MAX's first album. it's also their best selling album at 1.5 million copies sold (possibly even more). honestly this may be my favorite studio album because i'm a eurobeat fanatic. fun fact: none of the songs here are original, they're mostly covers of english eurobeat songs on seb volumes! favorites from here are stranger in the night, get my love and love love fire. definitely recommend if you love eurobeat and j-euro!!! 10/10

MAX's second album. love this one as well! they strayed from their eurobeat style here, and went for a more R&B/new jack(?) approach. i LOVE this album, 2nd favorite behind MAXIMUM, the tracks are so cool! in it they also take on ballads (i'll be with you, forever song) and a new unique eurobeat style (endless love, nobody else). it's the kind of album that could be calming when you're calm and energizing when you're full of energy. my favorites from here are endless love, nobody else, really love me, shinin on shinin love and give me a shake. recommended! 10/10

MAX's 3rd album. a calmer album than the rest. they focus on slower songs here, and they pull them off pretty well, there's more tender-sounding ones and more mysterious-sounding ones. it still has high-energy songs here, but unlike MAXIMUM II, they have a really happy sound to them, and also come in a bigger variety of genres. it's not my favorite album, but it has really nice songs! and it also has 2 eurobeat songs at the end!!! apart from the eurobeat songs, my favorites here are only one, sunny holiday, private crime and hikari no veil. pretty diverse tracklist overall, no 2 songs sound exactly like each other. i'm just not a big slow song fan. 9/10

MAX's 4th album, and their first compilation album. i really wish they'd released a studio album in 1999. ano natsu e to and ginga no chikai are so awesome sauce it's sad that we didn't get an album of songs in their style, but whatever. this album is a collection of every single from tora tora tora to ginga no chikai, with the addition of a couple of b sides and an album track. listening to this you'll realize that their discography is pretty diverse, there's a ton of genres in this album. i love their singles so i gotta give this a 10/10 even though i wish it was a studio album.

MAX's 1st remix album. now THIS is my shit. try to guess how many times i've streamed love impact melodic remix. 50? no. 200? not even close. 500? try harder. 700? nuh uh. 950. it's 950. and that number is from july 2023, and only counting my streams on spotify. i'm very normal about love impact melodic remix! even love impact melodic remix aside, there's no song here that i haven't looped over and over at some point. this is my favorite album. j-euro peaked here, in my opinion. i've written entire review essays on the songs of this album on a private padlet, i'm mad in love with it. if this album was a person, they'd be the coolest fucking dude. fun fact: i first got introduced to MAX through this album back in october 2022, although it took a while for me to go insane about them.

anyway, as for the album itself, although each song is the same genre (eurobeat), they're all so different. from the feelings they provoke to the synths and the instrumentation, each song offers a whole new listening experience than the last. the "eurobeat all sounds the same" crowd would weep if they listened to this. if i tried to pick out favorites from this album i'd just end up listing every song, but i can say with certainty that love impact melodic remix is my top 1 song not just from this album, but in general. i love you love impact melodic remix. please listen if you're a j-euro fan, or just a eurobeat fan in general. 11/10 album.

MAX's 6th album. this one's nothing like the others! it has a more electronic R&B 2000s style, not sure how to describe it. the songs in this album sound kinda playful but intense, but there's quieter songs too of course. i really like the style they used here! even though they got less popular because of their shift to R&B-colored stuff, they pulled it off. moreover, lina and nana got more solo parts than ever here. it's such a fun album to listen to! my favorites from it are lovin all night, necessary, barairo no hibi, magic and get ready. only complaint i have with this album is how Mina sung more than the others. her voice is cool and powerful yeah, but i wanna hear the other members' voices too, in necessary's chorus, for example. 9/10

MAX's 2nd remix album, this time including trance remixes. i don't like trance that much, so i have't listened to this, i'm sure it's great for trance fans tho.

MAX's 9th album, and first album in a while! this album's pretty cool, it's the only one with Aki in it. this album's songs are pretty different than the singles leading up to it, the style is barely like MAX. even with that, the music in it is good, if not slightly basic. i feel like this album is more pop than jpop, but what would i know? i don't listen to many jpop artists. in any case, the songs are pretty diverse, it can go from okinawan music to dancepop to bossa nova. i feel like this is their most relaxing album, even more than MAXIMUM GROOVE, due to the relative lack of upbeat songs. fun fact: this album also has their first and only english song, it's time to shine!. anyway, my favorites here are kira kirari, love screw, eternal white and be with you. 8/10
